YOUNGSTERS from nine local independent schools slugged it out on the netball court to find this year’s champion of their netball league.
Over the season, the schools have met each other in a series of home and away games and met in a final tournament to decide the winner.
Merton Court School in Knoll Road, Sidcup, hosted the first ever league tournament and Colfe’s School in Lee began in top place with a tally of 77 goals from their previous matches.
The under-11 teams taking part also included Blackheath Preparatory School, Blackheath High School, Farrington School Chislehurst, Baston School Hayes, Braeside School Bromley, Babbington School Chislehurst and West Lodge School in Sidcup.
At the end of the tournament, the team from Colfe’s remained top of the league, with Merton Court in second place and Blackheath Preparatory School in third place.
Over tea with hot chocolate after the games, each team also nominated their own player of the tournament.
