AN exhibition of art, using an innovative technique to produce abstract images has helped raise more than £400 for people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

The February Colour Collections was a series of works by Art of Spin artist John Moyce, held last month in the new Stables Gallery at Hall Place in Bourne Road, Bexley.

Opened by Bexley’s mayor, Councillor Nick O’Hare, the Art of Spin company offered to make a donation from the exhibition to the mayor’s charity appeal for Bexley Alzheimer’s Society.

At the close of the exhibition on March 1, one of the large abstract paintings was raffled and was won by Beverley Walters from Belvedere.

Money from the mayor’s appeal will enable the society to support sufferers of the disease and their carers in the borough.

The exhibition and the work of the society was also filmed by a television crew from Cyprus and was featured on one of its breakfast news shows.

The mayoress, Maria O’Hare is a Greek Cypriot.
