BRAVE souls are being invited to hunt for ghosts at a historic bunker to raise cash for charity.

The event has been organised by the Welling, Eltham and Sidcup branch for the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) It will take place on May 23 at Kelvedon Hatch Nuclear Bunker in Essex between 9pm and 5am.

People need to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship in order to take part and all of the money will be donated to the RNLI.

During the hunt people will be working with paranormal investigators and mediums to try and make spiritual contact.

The bunker was built in the 1950s as an RAF ROTOR station and was also used as an emergency regional government defence site.

It is now open to the public as a museum.

Ginette Hobbs, organiser and secretary for the Welling, Eltham and Sidcup branch of the RNLI said: “Although staying awake until 5am may sound difficult, with a full programme of activities and the potential for ghostly experiences, there is unlikely to be a dull moment.”

Anyone wishing to take part should call Ms Hobbs on 0208 855 1846 or email ginette.hobbs@googlemail.com.

People will also need to pay a £10 admission fee which will include food and drink.
