Police investigating the death of a man shot in Dulwich earlier this year have offered a £10,000 reward for information leading to the killer.

Sika Henry Michaels was shot outside his home in Clive Road, on the night of March 15, and was taken by ambulance to King’s College Hospital where he died hours later.

A postmortem confirmed the 18-year-old died from internal injuries caused by a bullet.

Detective Inspector Tim Neligan of the Met’s black gun crime team, Operation Trident, said: “This was a brutal murder of a young man outside his home address.

“It is our belief that Sika Michaels knew his killers.

“We are therefore urging anyone with information relating to this murder to contact Operation Trident or Crimestoppers.

“We are appealing to a number of people seen in the area at the time of the murder.

“In particular we would like to speak to an elderly, well-dressed black couple who were seen near the incident, a man wearing a khaki shirt who was seen giving first aid to the victim and a black Hackney cab driver who dropped a passenger off close to the address.” Police believe Mr Michaels had been sitting in his red Ford Brava, listening to music, from around 8.30pm on the night he died, when he became involved in an argument with two or three black men.

A struggle is believed to have broken out and Mr Michaels was shot in the right shoulder.

Mr Michaels’ mother Vivian said shortly after the incident: “ Sika was a beautiful boy, full of compassion, who always had a kind word for everyone.

“My son did not deserve to have his life cut short and I will do all I can to bring you to justice.

“You know you are out there and there is no hiding place for you.” Call Operation Trident on 020 8785 8056, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you have any information.
