1993 – Shaun Ryder was fined £650 and banned from driving for 18 months, after a crash involving a Lada-driving vicar.

2001 – A painting by Prince Charles was pulled from an internet auction after failing to reach its reserve price.

2002 – Dido revealed that three of the most romantic songs on her album were inspired by her husband to be Bob Page. After they spent their first full night together, she got up and penned Thank You, Take My Hand and Here With Me.
