THE institute had a seasonal winter which included a carol service also involving members from Ravensbourne District WIs. This was held in St Patrick’s Church, which still retains the tip-up seats from when it was a cinema.
There are always numerous comments about this.
The institute’s Christmas party featured a hearty ploughman’s lunch.
Entertainment was provided by Ela Southgate, a member’s daughter, who sang and played guitar.
The committee also provided unusual games which tested members’ creativity.
This is a friendly and lively group and there are many varied interests and activities already planned for the coming year.
Visitors are always welcome at meetings, held in St Patrick’s Hall, Albany Road, from 7.30pm on the third Monday of every month.
