A DECISION on whether to introduce vehicle surveillance technology as part of a scheme to fight terrorism is expected tonight (JAN 20).
Bromley Council’s portfolio holder for public protection and safety, Councillor Colin Bloom, will decide whether to spend £55k of government money on automatic number plate recognition technology.
Funding is part of a £105k grant to prevent violent extremism in Bromley and reduce crime in general.
The rest of the money is being spent on community engagement projects, and training safer neighbourhood teams and youth workers in identifying people promoting or susceptible to radicalisation.
