UPDATE - THAMESMEAD: Motorist dead after crash

A MOTORIST is dead and another one is seriously ill in hospital after a car crash in Thamesmead this morning (January 14).

The accident happened at around 4am in Yarnton Way when the vehicle they were in struck a lamp post.

Both people were unconscious when they were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich.

It is not yet known whether the driver or the passenger is the one to have died.

if people stuck to the 30 mph speed limit then there wouldn't be so many accidents and deaths on yarton way.

I use to live in Yarnton Way & I can remember how some motorist use to speed down there sometimes in rotton weather conditions

It is sad and a shame that people can not find any sympathy and already just assume that the driver was speeding. A man has lost his life, he could be someone's dad, brother, uncle.. Condolences to the family. r.i.p x
