A HOTEL owner has won his appeal to open a striptease and lap dancing club in New Cross.
An application by the White Hart Hotel, in New Cross Road, to open a strip club on the premises was refused by Lewisham Council in August.
More than 100 letters of objection and three petitions signed by 232 residents against the plan were received by the council, including a letter of objection from the police.
White Hart owner Ken Linwood won his appeal against the decision at Bromley Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Mr Linwood argued the strip club is the only way his business can survive.

Ok, i think some serious questions need to be answered about this new strip club opening such as:
1) Will it be a "Browns" type establishment i.e pound in the pot or will it be more of a "Stringfellows" i.e 20 pound for a dance.
2) Will it be open later than 2am
3) Will there be any "Extras"
Thats it for now....look forward to seeing you down there Mr Linwood.

Speaking as someone who has worked in safe houses for strippers trying to regain their dignity and escape this evil slave trade, I can only foresee disaster waiting for the poor, innocent girls who will be lured into the White Hart.
Sadly, Landlord Mr Linwood, looks so pleased in the photograph taken outside his establishment.
If he is incapable of making a living by selling alcohol alone, why not introduce crusty rolls for customers to enjoy, offer crisp flavours other than the staple ready salted, salt & vinegar and cheese & onion? Try putting free cheese, shellfish and roast potatoes on the bar every sunday to encourage new customers. There must be a better way than asking innocent young girls to take their clothes off in front of dirty old men in brown raincoats.
Please reconsider, Mr Linwood.
