A MEOPHAM man has received a CBE for services to the maritime industry in the New Year Honours.
David Moorhouse, aged 61, of Leywood Road, is the chairman of Lloyd's Register, which carries out safety checks in the transport and manufacturing industry.
This includes assessing whether ships are seaworthy.
