NEW ASH GREEN: Mother appears in court charged with murdering son

A MOTHER has appeared in court charged with the murder of her 11-year-old son.

Jennifer Taylor, aged 44, of Knights Croft in New Ash Green, appeared at Maidstone Crown Court this morning (December 22).

She did not make a plea and was remanded in custody to appear again on March 16 next year.

Police found the body of James Taylor at the house he shared with his mother at around 5.30am on December 2.

They also found his mother in a critical condition.

She was arrested in connection with James's death and was in hospital until December 8, when she was released and taken into police custody.

An inquest into James's death has yet to be opened.

James was a pupil at Wilmington Grammar School for Boys.

His father, who is not a UK resident, has been informed of the death.
