A ROBBER threatened a bus driver in Anerley with an axe before making off with £40.

The driver of the empty 249 bus was parked in Station Approach Road waiting to return to the depot when he was attacked.

Police are looking for a black man in his mid to late 20s, about 6ft tall, with a large build and a thick moustache in connection with the robbery.

The man who was wearing a long white jacket with a hood smashed one of the bus windows with an axe before running off down Oakfield Road.
