POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a teenager brandishing what is believed to have been a gun held up a convenience store.

The robber, who is about 15 years old, pointed the handgun at customers before targeting the sales assistant behind the counter, in Alldays, London Road, Greenhithe, around 8.50pm.

Wearing a navy blue top — which had a hood masking most of his face — he demanded the sales assistant hand over cash before he ran across the road £150 richer towards the Bull public house, where a friend was waiting for him in a blue Nissan Cabstar.

A car matching the same description was previously reported to the police for being driven dangerously along Maidstone Road, Sidcup, at 2.20pm and cutting off a driver in a grey Metro.

And a similar vehicle was spotted being driven along the pavement to avoid traffic along the A20 Sidcup Bypass 40 minutes later.

A teenager has been arrested and charged in connection with the armed robbery but police would like to speak to anyone who might help identify the occupants in the Cabstar on June 8.
