A TEENAGER was found guilty of breaching an anti-social behaviour order (ASBO) after gesturing rudely at a neighbour.

The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had a history of being abusive to the woman before he raised his middle finger at her as she drove past.

The boy’s mother told Dartford Magistrates’ Court on Monday that at the time of the incident her son was with her in Bluewater shopping centre.

Magistrates said they were “not convinced” by the claim and ruled that the youngster “made an abusive sign and threatening grimaces” which breached an ASBO made in November last year.

The order was made after a catalogue of abuse and anti-social behaviour towards neighbours, including swearing, making goading comments and throwing objects.

A neighbour, who lives near the youth, said she was driving to a football match with her children in the car when she spotted the youth with a group of friends, at 2pm on April 12.

She told the court: “He looked directly at me and it was all verbal.

“Then he gave me the middle finger gesture. I was fed up and annoyed because I had the children in the car.

“I don’t need them seeing and hearing that abuse.” The youth was granted unconditional bail and sentence was adjourned until next week.
