A PLAYBUS which takes early years education to children will soon be celebrating its 30th anniversary.
The Lewisham Playbus Service, which is funded by Lewisham Council’s early years service, visits six different sites a week where there is a special education need.
The bus celebrates 30 years of existence in September and the staff are keen to involve everyone who has been part of its history.
The bus is fitted with a small library, soft play, blocks and sand and water play to provide a comprehensive curriculum for under-fives.
Councillor Katy Donnelly, cabinet member for lifelong learning, said: “The playbus service is testimony to the council’s commitment to ensuring all children in the borough have the opportunity to a good start in life, irrespective of their circumstances and where they live.” Anyone who would like to celebrate the anniversary should call 07867 758806.
