A PROJECT supporting youngsters at risk of homelessness has been revisited by the Government minister who opened it.
Greenwich and Woolwich MP Nick Raynsford, also Local Government Minister, was met by teenagers and parents at 1st Base, in Barnard Close, last Friday.
The Woolwich project, one of eight London schemes funded by charity Safe in the City, was launched in November 2001.
It provides opportunites for 13 to 18-year-olds to help them stay at home and improve relationships with their families.
Co-ordinator Christina Johnson said: “We are working with 64 young people and 12 families in Greenwich who, without our help, could find themselves in a situation where teenagers either leave suddenly or are forced to go because of difficulties at home.”
