A FIFTEEN-YEAR plan to rejuvenate Bromley town centre goes out to consultation on Monday (Nov 17).
Bromley Council has produced a draft area action plan aimed at making the town one of London's main metropolitan centres.
This includes renovating the high street, extending the Glades shopping centre and the building of 2,000 new homes.
Portfolio holder for local economy Councillor Julian Benington said: “We believe the plan will help to create a more attractive and successful town by ensuring a balance of commercial, residential, leisure and community facilities, reinforcing its status as one of London’s main centres.”
Copies of a summary of the plan have been sent to residents and businesses and are available at all libraries in the borough as well as online at bromley.gov.uk/BromleyTownCentreAAP
After consultation ends on February 6 next year a final plan will be made and sent to the Government for examination by an independent planning inspector.
