Notable births included Finding Neverland child actor Freddie Highmore, and EastEnders actors James Martin, Thomas Law and Melissa Suffield.
Notable deaths included comedian Benny Hill, artist Francis Bacon and former Labour MP Gregor Mackenzie.
1992 Star Fact: On February 20 the FA Premier League was officially formed, taking over from the Football League’s First Division. The first games took place at the beginning of the English football season on August 15.
