A 62-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in court accused of raping a 17-year-old girl in 1980.
Geoffrey Stoneham, of Alamein Road, Swanscombe, appeared before Wycombe magistrates this morning (October 15) charged with rape.
Stoneham did not enter a plea and the magistrates remanded him in custody until he appears at Aylesbury Crown Court on October 30.
He was arrested yesterday (October 14) in connection with the rape of the teenager, who was attacked in Wycombe in Buckinghamshire on April 25, 1980.
The arrest follows an investigation by Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Review Team.
