Pedestrian in hospital after West Wickham bus accident

A 61-YEAR-OLD pedestrian is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was hit by a bus in West Wickham.

The man was hit by a 119 double decker bus this morning in Wickham Court Road at the junction with West Wickham High Street at 7.03am.

He was taken to the Princess Royal University Hospital in Farnborough with head injuries.

Wickham Court Road and West Wickham High Street were closed until 9.52am.

I was waiting for the 119 on the otherside of the road when the accident happened. I did not see the accident itself, just saw the 119 stopped in the middle of the juction with its hazard lights on. At first i thought the bus had broken down. I only realised what had happened when a group of people went to his aid.

I hope the gentleman makes a full recovery.
