POLICE are planning a London-wide operation to ensure public safety when Leeds United play Millwall.

Officers from the Met say they are are working with colleagues from West Yorkshire Police and British Transport Police and with Millwall Football Club to ensure the game at the New Den on October 18 is trouble-free.

Fans who do not have a ticket are advised not to travel to the game and are reminded that tickets will only be for sale until 5pm on October 15.

Police say they be at the Millwall ground and throughout London on match day, to provide reassurance for fans and the local community.

  • Three men have been charged in connection with an incident in which police were pelted with stones, lighters and coins after the last Millwall v Leeds United match at the New Den on April 19.
  • One of the men, a 19-year-old from Bromley, was found guilty of an offence under the Public Order Act on September 3 at Greenwich Magistrates' Court and awaits sentencing.

How Your Lord wishes the powers-that-be would ban this banal game played by dire, dull, dimwits and watched by dum, drunken, dregs.

Police resources are stretched enough as it is without having to make sure violent thugs that call themselves 'fans' behave themselves.

Millwall has a saying that goes, 'No-one likes us, we don't care'.

Obviously.

I drive past Millwall Football Club every day. Took me ages to realise it was there until I was stuck outside at a traffic light.

p.s. I hate football, full of thugs and 'I'm so clever matey' NOT

I think you meant 'you're' not 'your' and 'bigot' not 'biggot', Justin.

Do yourself a favour and buy a dictionary.
