Police are appealing for witnesses after a lone teenager was assaulted in Weybridge.

A 16-year-old girl was approached by a male suspect in Brooklands Road, Weybridge, who pushed her to the ground between 12.15am and 12.40am on August 7.

After she began screaming, the attacker fled.

The girl flagged down a passing police car shortly after the attack.

Detective Constable Rene Murdoch, who is leading the investigation, said: “This was obviously a very concerning incident where a young and vulnerable victim has been targeted.

“Fortunately the victim was able to walk away uninjured but she was understandably very distressed by the experience.”

The suspect is described as a white male, 6ft 1in tall, of medium build, between 37 and 40 years old with long, straight shoulder-length hair.

He was wearing a dark top and dark jeans and trainers.

“I would like to reassure the public that there have not been any similar attacks in the Weybridge area and everything possible is being done to bring this man to justice,” said D Con Murdoch.

Witnesses should call D Con Murdoch on 0845 125 2222.
