Roger Colbeck successfully defended his men's singles title when Hayes Lawn Tennis Club held its annual club championships at their Barnet Wood Road ground.
Despite losing the first set
6-2, Colbeck rallied strongly to take the next two sets
6-2, 6-0 against Andrew Smithson.
Janet Alsop also defended her ladies title by beating Sue Patch, after a very close first set, 7-5, 6-0.
Colbeck then teamed up with Barry Smith to win his second title of the day, taking the men's doubles 4-6, 6-1, 6-3 against Alan Brewer and his son, Rhys, in a very highly competitive match.
The ladies doubles title was retained by Janet Devine and Catherine Shepherd for the third year running when they beat Sue Skillen and Janet Alsop 5-7, 6-2, 6-3.
Sue had beter luck in the mixed doubles when she partnered Vic Chance to defeat
Andrew Smithson and Sue Paton 6-1, 6-2.
The day ended with the men's singles plate in which Dare Wilcox beat John Corrish 6-4, 6-2.
