A THIRTEEN-year-old boy has landed a role as one of the Von Trapp children in the West End's Sound of Music.
James Meaden, who is head boy of years 7, 8 and 9 at Ravensbourne School in Hayes Lane, Bromley, will play Frederic at the London Palladium for six months.
He has six weeks of rehearsals now and will then be performing twice a week.
His mother Bernadette, of The Chase, Bromley, said: "All the other kids at the audition were at drama school, while James only goes on Saturdays.
"I think it's important to show young people having an interest instead of hanging around on the streets."
