ROADWORKS on both carriageways of the A2 at Ebbsfleet mean the road will be closed at weekends in October.

The resurfacing and waterproofing work will begin on October 3.

Between 9pm on October 3 and 5am on October 6 there will be a complete closure of the coastbound carriageway, from a 1km section between the exit and entry slip roads at the Ebbsfleet junction (B259).

Traffic will be diverted via the exit slip road to Ebbsfleet Eastern Roundabout to rejoin the coastbound carriageway at the entry slip.

Work will be carried out on the London bound carriageway between 9pm on October 10 and 5am on October 13.

And between 9pm on October 17 and 5am on October 20.

Two lanes will be kept running on the London bound carriageway at all times.

The London bound exit slip at the Ebbsfleet junction (B259) will also be closed.

Traffic wishing to take the exit slip road will be diverted to continue on the London bound carriageway to Bean interchange.

From there drivers will be directed down Roman Road (A296) to rejoin the A2 on the coastbound carriageway to exit at Ebbsfleet Eastern Roundabout.

The Highways Agency say the works are dependant on suitable weather conditions.

If the works are not completed within the weekends planned, there will be additional disruptions between 9pm on October 24 and 5am on October 27, and 9pm on October 31 and 5am on November 3.
