THREE more Bexley primary schools have received bronze awards for their efforts to reduce the numbers of children travelling to school by car.
Nine Bexley schools have now achieved the Transport for London award, but three of them were unable to attend the awards ceremony in July.
Now St Stephen's Catholic Primary School in Deepdene Road, Welling; St Peter Chanel Catholic Primary School in Baugh Road, Foots Cray, and Christ Church CofE Primary School in Lesney Park Road, Erith, have been presented with their awards by Bexley councillor Val Clark during a school travel conference at Bexley's civic offices last week.
Pauline York, higher level teaching assistant at St Peter Chanel, said: "We have a junior road safety officer who is also part of our school council and the environmental council. By involving them, it seems to make it more meaningful to the children."
