YEAR 12 students in Chislehurst started the year with a motivational talk from a star of The Apprentice.

The team building event, organised by Bromley Education Business Partnership (BEBP) at Beaverwood School for Girls, Chislehurst, included a talk from Shazia Wahab - who was a finalist on the BBC TV show.

The BEBP - which works with the local community and business volunteers - is running a series of similar events at schools in the borough.

BEBP Operations Manager, Lesley Holland said: "We work closely with Bromley schools in delivering a valuable learning experience for all students.

"This event is one of the many experiences we can offer to Bromley pupils in a number of areas, including work experience placements, mentoring and business enterprise".

Ms Wahab was fired by Sir Alan Sugar, in week two of the last series - after the contenders attempted the challenge of running a laundry business - but said she had no regrets about appearing on the show.

The 36-year-old business woman said: "I was delighted to be asked to speak at this event.

"My key message for the girls is to work hard, as nothing is impossible and they should never give up."

Rattler One Seven, Bromley says...

To call this clown a 'star' is wholly misleading. She was useless - an embarassment and a joke and fully deserved to be fired. Hardly the type of person who would inspire you or who you'd aspire to be.

I disagree with Rattler 1 7. I go to Beaverwood School and she inspired me. Her talk was really inspirational and she made me think about what I want to do in my life. Everyone was talking about it afterwards.

Ok, so beating 20,000 done to 14 people, for a job is an embarrasment...!!! Definately not! I think its couragous and takes a whole lots of guts. She held her integrity in tact and is definately inspirational for the women of tomorrow...if you would rather prefer to be inspired by a 'jenny', then says alot about your character rattler!
