A SMOKE alarm woke a household after their kitchen caught fire.
The people living in the house in Sydney Road, Abbey Wood, managed to get out before phoning 999 at around 11pm yesterday (September 9).
It is thought that the fire was probably started by some cooking which had been left on the stove.
Firefighters from Erith wearing breathing apparatus took around an hour to deal with the incident.

Anyone who calls him/herself 'becks' is obviously not going to be too heavy in the brains department. The point of this story, aside from informing people a fire took place, is obviously to warn people of the dangers of not having smoke alarms installed in their home. Had this family not been woken by their alarm, they might not have been so lucky.
