8:46am Wednesday 10th September 2008

A SMOKE alarm woke a household after their kitchen caught fire.

The people living in the house in Sydney Road, Abbey Wood, managed to get out before phoning 999 at around 11pm yesterday (September 9).

It is thought that the fire was probably started by some cooking which had been left on the stove.

Firefighters from Erith wearing breathing apparatus took around an hour to deal with the incident.

Oh my god! what a bizarre thing, a fire alarm actually making a noise and waking someone up when there's a fire!!!!

oh hang on a sec, thats exactly what they are meant to do...

what a stupid story! talk about stating the obvious! what will we have next, 'yesterday it is reported that someone witnessed a cow eating some grass in a field...'

Anyone who calls him/herself 'becks' is obviously not going to be too heavy in the brains department.

The point of this story, aside from informing people a fire took place, is obviously to warn people of the dangers of not having smoke alarms installed in their home. Had this family not been woken by their alarm, they might not have been so lucky.

I think the most unusual aspect of the story is that the entire household was asleep by 11pm? All of them?

Do you have some sort of medical problem that has caused you to post the same stupid question on so many stories?

What do you mean 'Fancy a bum'?

Another fire caused by cooking left on the stove. Not sure about educating people about smoke alarms, how about informing them to actually turn off the stove and remove anything on it, before going to bed?
