EXPLOSIVES officers were called to a house in Bromley after an unexploded Second World War grenade was found in the garage.
The German grenade fuse was reported in a garage in Hayesford Park shortly after 2pm yesterday.
Neighbour, Julia Earthrow said: "As far as I know the family's children had picked it up in Normandy last year, not realising what it was.
"And it has been sitting in their garage until today when they were having a clear out and realised what it was."
Explosives officers - who spent more than three hours making the device safe - said the fuse was still "quite volatile" when it was found.
