An unexploded WW2 bomb has been found in a woodland area in Bexley.
The discovery was made at Joyden’s Wood at around 10am yesterday (March 20).
Specialist officers were called to the scene and a police cordon was put in place.
The device was found and has since been detonated and removed from the area.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “At around 10:00hrs on Wednesday 20 March, police were called to Joyden’s Woods, Bexley following a report that an unexploded device had been found.
“Officers attended the scene and a cordon was put in place, which has since closed.
“Specialist officers removed the device that was confirmed to be a WWII bomb, the device was safely detonated.”
