I am immensely proud to be the Headteacher of Cleeve Park School and the reputation we have built. Since I joined Cleeve Park in 2021, the last 3 years have seen our team of dedicated staff work tirelessly to build a school community that will provide a strong foundation for our young people that prepares them for life beyond school. This shows in both our academic outcomes and pastoral expectations. As a result, we have seen both our GCSE and A Level results go from strength to strength - making us a strong parental choice within Bexley when moving from primary to secondary school.

Throughout my career I have always worked to build a school community that I would choose to send my own children to. I base every decision on what I would want as a parent. This covers all aspects of education - our curriculum offers, our behaviour expectations and as well as our communications with parents. I am always proud to meet former Cleeve Park students and shake their hand and hear the amazing things they have achieved knowing our part in their success.

I have always loved my job, so my ambition for our students is to find their role in adult life that is as fulfilling, successful and enjoyable - whatever that may be. Over the last 3 years, we have seen our applications to Russell Group universities increase, including Oxford and Cambridge; similarly, and of equal importance and celebration, we have seen students take up apprenticeships and jobs in a wide range of professions. And I am proud of every single one of them.

Our staff are caring and ambitious for our young people, recognising that life today presents many challenges. Consequently, we aim to equip young people with the skills to face those challenges with a solution focus so that they can stand independently as they approach adult life and make good choices for success.

My expectations as a Headteacher are high. I hold myself, my staff and our students to that high level daily.  This includes the way in which they work, interact with each other and showing resilience and tolerance that is so often in short supply in our society today. I expect everyone to be respectful, polite and tolerant of each other even if their views, opinions and cultures are different. Just because 2 people have different views does not mean they have to be enemies.  Our school must be one where we respect each other regardless of race, gender, sexuality or academic ability.

At Cleeve Park, we have a school that has high expectations for young people and I make no apologies for this. We start each day greeting children at the gates and our day is spent expecting young people to be the best they can be both academically and as positive members of our community.

I look forward to welcoming you to Cleeve Park and being a part of the local community.
