A suspected cannabis factory has been found in Eltham after police attended the scene of a crash.

Police were called to Pound Place at 10.15pm on Saturday, January 27.

They were called to reports that a van had crashed into a building.

When police arrived, the occupant(s) had left the van.

No injuries were reported.

After the crash, police had concerns for structural damage on the building.

So, they entered the building and found a large number of what are believed to be cannabis plants.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Officers are investigating following the discovery of a suspected cannabis factory in Eltham.

“Police were called at about 22:15hrs on Saturday, 27 January to reports of van in collision with a building on Pound Place, SE9.

“Officers attended but the occupant(s) had left the vehicle.

“There were no reported injuries.

“Due to concerns regarding structural damage, officers entered the building and found a large number of what are believed to be cannabis plants.”
