An “aggressive” man has attacked multiple men and women at Abbey Wood station, police said.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and victims of the serious assault to come forward.

At 12.15am on Friday, December 22, a man was travelling between Canary Wharf and Abbey Wood when they saw another man acting aggressively towards a woman.

He intervened to deescalate the situation before leaving the train at Abbey Wood.

However, his attacker also ended his journey there.

The victim saw the man becoming aggressive to another group of women outside the station and again he intervened.

But as he did so, he was assaulted.

A man aged in his 20s was arrested in connection with the attack.

But now British Transport Police (BTP) have said there may be an additional man and woman who were victims of an assault by this man.

Anyone with information can contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 with the reference 17 of 22/12/23.
