Police have issued an update after a woman was stabbed in Bexley yesterday afternoon.
Police were first called to Penhill Road at 4.07pm yesterday (January 16).
Police believe the suspect is known to the victim, who is in her 30s.
Today (January 17), police have confirmed that the woman still remains in a critical condition, more than 15-hours after she was stabbed.
There has been no arrests at this stage.
AA maps show the road remains closed in both directions.
Inspector Graham Rickard, from the policing team for south east London, said: “We arrived at the scene within three minutes of the initial report and provided first aid to the victim until paramedics arrived.
"Sadly, she is very seriously injured and has been taken to hospital in a critical condition.
"At this very early stage we believe the suspect is known to her.
"Officers remain at the scene and in the area carrying out a number of inquiries.”
