One man has been treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out at a care home in Woolwich.
Today (January 10) at 7.10am, firefighters were called to the home in Woolwich New Road following an automatic fire alarm sounding.
The London Fire Brigade has said that it is believed the alarm was caused by burnt cooking.
Crews attended the scene and ventilated the building and one man was treated for smoke inhalation.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: “Firefighters responded to a report of an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential care home on Woolwich New Road this morning.
“The alarm is believed to have been caused by burnt cooking.
“Crews ventilated the building.
"One man was treated for smoke inhalation.
“The Brigade was called at 0710 and the incident was over for firefighters by 0756.”
