They need to be set straight, have a sense of worth instilled in them, an honest set of values and be guided by someone who truly cares & has a love for them.
The vile attitudes I can see being vented here will only reap more of the same. Retaliation will only bring about revenge and an ever depressing cycle until someone stands up with strength to overcome that urge like Jimmy Mizzen's parents and stops it in its tracks.
With the kind of attitudes here it's not surprising that kids are of low self esteem and get angry and clash with each other and anyone else who gets in their way.
The answer is I believe:
1. Give them a real deterrent which they will fear which they'll see if they kill or badly injure another.
2. Carry out the threat. They want real firm boundaries not soft cotton wool ones.
3. Teach and show them firm family values such as honesty, respect, loyalty, truthfulness, trustworthiness, compassion, kindness, friendship and forgiveness.
4. Show them the jail, the sadness, the grief that they will find in their short life ahead if they carry on against the opposite if they turn their life around.
5. Parents should be accountable, if not already, if they have been negligent.
6. The media, tv, video and music scene should be more tightly censured to prevent kids being exposed to stuff that they are not able to handle at too young an age. They are being pressured into growing up too quickly. Let them play as childen not pretend grown ups.
7. Bring back common sense.
8. Allow discipline to be undertaken properly if necessary in schools without fear of riduclous legal reprisals.
9. Give them an aim in life which they can really hope for.
10. Give the children good examples and role models. In other words practise what you preach.

Good old Christian basic values in other words. These have been abandoned by many. Look where it's taken us. Time now to throw the anchors down from this ship to slow the progress and turn the rudder around. It's not too late for anyone yet.

Why then are most of the stabbings committed and carried out on and by a majority of black youths? I am not racist but this year especially it seems the reports tell us that the youths carrying out these crimes are black, including most of the victims. Why write this so that more people can write things about OUR boy? l know all you boys and talk to you often, why not let people know how smart we are.
