The festive season is fast approaching and with it the return of many favourite local Christmas markets and fairs to south east London.
Lewisham has plenty of Christmas markets and fairs, from crafts to festive food markets, and we’ve rounded them all up.
Here’s everything you need to know about all of the Christmas markets coming to Lewisham this Christmas:
Deptford Winter Market
Where? Deptford High Street
When? Friday, December 1 and Saturday, December 2 from 11am to 7pm
During the weekend there will be a Christmas light switch-on, along with festive carol singing, street food and craft stalls as well as a free Santa’s grotto for the children.
FUSS at Hither Green
Where? Staplehurst Road, SE13 5NB
When? Saturday, December 2 from 12pm to 5pm
Returning for another year, the annual FUSS at Hither Green Christmas fair will be returning with a Christmas tree light switch on taking place at around 4:30pm.
There will also be a range of local traders and businesses selling food, drink and gifts.
Lewisham Food Market
Where? Cornmill Gardens, Lewisham, SE13 7FT
When? Sunday, December 3 from 10am to 4pm
For one day, Lewisham’s usual food market will host a festive edition selling street food and produce from local traders.
Beckenham Winter Vintage Market at the Mansion
Where? Beckenham Place Mansion, Beckenham Hill Road, BR3 1SY
When? Saturday, December 9 and Sunday, December 10 from 10am to 6pm
Lovers of vintage can hit the market at Beckenham Place Park for their two-day event, featuring 40 vintage traders spread across the inside and outside of the mansion.
There will be everything from mid-century decor, lighting, furniture, ceramics and glass, to homeware, books, records, prints and clothes.
Street food and coffee will also be available.
Catford Food Market
Where? Catford Bridge train station, London, SE6 4FD
When? Sunday, December 10 from 10am to 4pm
Catford Food Market will be hosting a festive edition of its regular riverside market, selling a range of street food and produce from local vendors.
Horniman Market Seasonal Special
Where? Horniman Museum & Gardens, 100 London Road, Forest Hill, SE23 3PQ
When? Sunday, December 10 from 10am to 3pm
Located outside on the Bandstand Terrace, this market will be selling a range of seasonal produce, gifts, food and drink.
You’ll be able to find everything from handmade chocolates to artisan cheeses to natural beauty products at this market.
Afterwards, why not head into the museum to browse through its large collection of artefacts from natural history to musical instruments.
Lewisham Winter Market
Where? Lewisham Town Centre
When? Friday, December 15 and Saturday, December 16 from 11am to 5:30pm
Following a successful market last year, this popular market will be returning to Lewisham’s town centre.
There will be a range of activities including the annual Christmas lights switch on, music and carols, festive craft workshops, street food and a free Santa’s grotto for the children.
Beckenham Place Park
Where? Beckenham Place Park, Beckenham Hill Rd, Beckenham, BR3 1SY
When? Saturday, December 16 and Sunday, December 17
The popular and award-winning Salad Days Market will be collaborating with author Liv Purvis to host a Christmas Market featuring local businesses.
Forster Memorial Park Christmas Market
Where? Forster Memorial Park, Whitefoot Lane, BR1 5SD
When? Sunday, December 17 from 9am to 2:30pm
This event will showcase small Lewisham businesses with a market selling food, drinks, gifts and hand-made items.
There will also be live music, face painting and a Santa’s grotto on the day.
