A NURSERY school teacher has spoken of her shock after a car landed on top of her garage this morning (July 13).
Joyce Alimo and her husband Walter were woken at 1am by a "blood-curdling thud" outside their home in Warren Road, Orpington.
She said: "I rushed outside and saw a young man climbing out of the car.
"The car was pointing head down into my garage like an arrow."
A group of passers-by helped the car's other passenger out of the vehicle and lay him on the pavement.
Mrs Alimo believes the car may have hit her 8ft garden hedge which acted like a ramp, sending it flying into the garage.
She says the impact has written off her own car which was in the garage, and destroyed the rest of its contents.
Mrs Alimo said: "It was an accident waiting to happen - very often we hear shrieking cars late at night.
"But my main concern is that nobody was killed.
"There have to be some speed bumps put in this road because there are schools either side of it."
One of the occupants was taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
