A SHOPPING centre has launched a scheme to help parents find their children if they become separated while shopping.
The Child Safe Zone scheme at Greenwich Shopping Park offers parents a hotline number displayed on bright posters throughout the centre in Bugsby Way.
They can call the number if their child goes missing while they are shopping, and a security team then uses CCTV to reunite them.
Children are also provided with free wristbands with their parents' mobile numbers on them.
Youngsters and nursery workers from Somerville Day Nursery, Sparta Street, Blackheath Hill, attended the launch of the scheme.
They were also given a talk by a PCSO about how to stay safe while shopping.
A Greenwich Shopping Park spokesman said: "Everyone at the centre understands the importance of reuniting a lost child with their parents as quickly as possible.
"We have implemented this scheme to give our shoppers increased peace of mind."
