We've rounded up everything you need to know about traveling with Southern this month amid engineering work and industrial action.

From Monday, July 17 until Saturday, July 22 there will be a number of timetable alterations and service changes as a result of a nationwide ban on overtime in place by the ASLEF union.

National strike action by RMT union is also set to take place on Thursday, July 20, Saturday, July 22 and Saturday, July 29, affecting Thameslink services.

For people travelling by tube, there is also separate industrial action taking place on the London Underground between Sunday, July 23 and Friday, July 28.

Customers are being advised to plan ahead and to check journeys before travelling between July 17 and July 30 during the days of planned industrial action.

Stations are anticipated to be busier during these days, with some customers potentially having to queue or not being able to board a train altogether.

There will also be additional planned engineering works affecting some Southern services in and out of London on July 15, July 16 and from July 17 - July 21.

Here’s everything you need to know:

Monday, July 17 – Wednesday, July 19

Between these dates there will be an amended timetable due to industrial action.

Thameslink customers are being advised to allow extra time for their journey and to expect busier stations and trains, with some customers likely to queue during peak times.

There will also be an amended late night and early morning service to and from London Victoria, due to engineering works between Balham and Selhurst closing some lines.

From 11:45pm until 5:30am each morning trains to and from London Victoria will be running on a revised timetable due to planned engineering works.

On Tuesday until Friday the 12:01am service from London Bridge to Selhurst will divert at Crystal Palace, terminating at Norwood Junction.

A rail replacement bus service will run between Tulse Hill and Selhurst, calling at stations via Streatham Common.

Thursday, July 20

Services will start later and finish earlier than normal with some stations not being served because of industrial action.

Customers are advised to check before they travel and to plan ahead.

There will also be an amended late night and early morning service to and from London Victoria due to engineering works between Balham and Selhurst.

From 11:45pm until 5:30am trains to and from London Victoria will be running on a revised timetable due to planned engineering works.

The 12:01am service from London Bridge to Selhurst will divert at Crystal Palace terminating at Norwood Junction.

Friday, July 21

On the Friday there will be an amended timetable with fewer services, due to planned industrial action, with services starting slightly later.

There will also be an amended late night and early morning service to and from London Victoria due to engineering works between Balham and Selhurst.

From 11:45pm until 5:30am trains to and from London Victoria will be running on a revised timetable due to planned engineering works.

The 12:01am service from London Bridge to Selhurst will divert at Crystal Palace terminating at Norwood Junction.

Saturday, July 22

There will be an amended timetable affecting certain routes in Sussex and Kent.

Sunday, July 23

Services are expected to start later than normal, although Southern has confirmed that the timetable will return to a normal Sunday service.
