Woolwich has been announced as one of the best places to live for 2023, according to The Sunday Times.

The Sunday Times shared that it has become “one of the most exciting neighbourhoods in the capital.”

SE18 gained recognition for its “impressive views of the Thames, connections to central London and its cultural offering”, as they wrote it makes the “fertile ground for young professionals seeking a foothold on the London property ladder.”

So, we have put together a list of everything that sets Woolwich apart and makes it such an amazing place to live.

 

The Elizabeth Line

Woolwich’s spot on the Elizabeth line makes it a highly desirable spot to live.

You can be at Liverpool Street in around 17 minutes thanks to the high speed of the most recent addition to the London underground system.

 

Food and drink spots

Woolwich is brimming with unique spots to eat and drink.

There are so many cool places to go out for the evening, such as ViB Bar, Maya DD’s, SALT Woolwich, Rust Bucket Pizza Co and Con Gusto to name a few.

 

Royal Arsenal Farmers’ Market

This market takes place on the second and last Saturday of every month and is a wonderful treat for Woolwich residents.

On Saturday, April 8 the market will be open to celebrate Easter with an exciting lineup of events.

Woolwich ferry

The Woolwich ferry is another brilliant travel link that makes Woolwich such a great place to live.

The ferry is free of charge and runs Monday to Friday from 6am – 9pm and usually at weekends from 7am – 6pm.

The ferry runs approximately every 15-20 minutes throughout the day, making it a reliable travel option.
