A CHARITY has launched its summer programme of courses for young offenders and children excluded from school.
Streetvibes Youth, based in Lewisham Road, Lewisham, also targets youngsters aged from 13 to 16 who are struggling with their studies.
The alternative education provider, which takes children from Lewisham, Greenwich, Southwark and Lambeth, offers courses in music-making, DJ-ing, web deign and film.
It also provides after-school and school holiday activities.
Project director Sonia Ramanah said: "We get young people working on something creative and positive, giving them skills and giving them opportunity.
"We try to bring in kids from different areas because we are all living in a city which is breeding division.
"Young people are not mixing or interacting with other kids from different areas.
"This is creating some of the problems you're seeing."
