Freshen up your look with a new flash of colour. It's big news this season and here are some bright ideas on how to be so on-trend this spring from Graham Webb International.
1. As soon as spring turns to summer, many of us immediately want to lighten our look with a fabulous blonde makeover. Why not? Maybe blondes really do have more fun!
But this year, instead of pale highlights, colourists in the know are choosing hints of apricot for a dynamic, fresh appeal. In fact, word is the best colour choices are edible - caramels, coffees and fruity names!
2. To create a great sun-kissed look, you don't need to go all-American beach babe in the style of Pammy Anderson or Paris Hilton.
Ask your colourist to work a few lighter pieces of hair just around your face - it's an instant summer pick-me-up without the commitment of all-over colour.
3. If you're channelling your inner Dita Von Teese and adore the sexy, sultry possibilities of a rich, brunette or black hair colour, then remember that seriously dark shades can be very difficult to wear depending on your skin tones.
The 2008 take on dark is more about dusky, slate-grey or even slightly metallic tones. Ask your hairdresser to advise - it's what they're trained for!
4. Fashion dictates that this year, highlights and lowlights are best kept as narrow sections, carefully placed by your hairdresser - we've moved on from chunky stripes.
The are they natural or not?' look is a key one for this summer season.
5. Once you've got the hair colour you love we recommend you use a colour protection shampoo in order to retain your hair colours vibrancy and intensity for longer.
