A MUSEUM has held a day of Indian music and dance as part of an exhibition.
Artists performed traditional music and dance from India at The Horniman Museum, London Road, Forest Hill, last Sunday as part of the Utsavam: Music From India exhibition.
The day included a performance of Bihu, the traditional dance of the north-east Indian state of Assam, as well as demonstrations of the Indian dance Bharata-Natyam and music from west Bengal.
The patron of the exhibition, musician Nitin Sawhney, said: "This landmark exhibition at the Horniman, and the programme of events around it, offers a new perspective on Indian culture and music."
He added: "I am sure it will inspire people to discover more about Indian music and provide artistic influence to musicians here in the UK."
