CHILDREN enjoyed visiting a secondary school to perform dances.

Hextable School in Egerton Avenue, hosted 120 youngsters aged between five and 11 and from six primary schools on March 6.

Students came from Hextable Primary School; Sutton-at-Hone CofE School; St Mary's CofE School; Horizon Primary School; High Firs and Crockenhill Primary School.

The pupils' themes included machines, maths and friendship.

Year 7 students from the secondary school also performed their own dances.

The event was held to give youngsters an idea of what they could expect if they went to the secondary school.

It also helped promote physical activity for healthy lifestyles.

Hextable School business and community director Karen Daniel: "This was a fantastic opportunity for the primaries to perform in state-of-the-art facilities and to experience working together."
