HOMEOWNERS aged 70 or over are eligible for free loft and cavity wall insulation which can be fitted free of charge.
The offer is being promoted by London Warm Zone, which helps householders improve the energy of their homes.
Bromley Council is warning residents to be wary of any insulation company that cold calls, selling either by telephone or door-to-door.
The council's head of residential services, Martin Parsons, said: "With rising fuel bills, older people are especially concerned about using their heating.
"Loft and cavity wall insulation will make homes warmer for a lower cost in the winter and will keep them cooler during the summer.
"If your home is not insulated and you are over 70, contact London Warm Zone now."
