YOUNGSTERS dressed up, danced and sampled exotic food as they learnt about a different culture.
Year 4 girls at Bromley High Junior School in Blackbrook Lane, Bickley, painted diva lamps and cooked traditional food for their school's India Day on March 4.
The pupils, aged eight and nine, dressed up in saris and ate chapattis and spicy potatoes for lunch.
They also used fresh flower petals to create the flag of India.
In the afternoon they took part in a dance workshop in which they learnt bhangra, a Punjabi form of music and dance, which they performed in front of their parents.
Year 4 teacher Helen Miller said: "It was a brilliant day - the children loved it.
"They enjoyed eating Indian food and want to eat chapattis for lunch every day."
