A COMPANY based in Cornwall has been chosen to provide the public art for a revitalised riverside park.

Townspeople in Crayford were invited to visit an exhibition of designs for the Waterside gardens, and those produced by Mor came out as a clear favourite.

Its proposals include a water play area and will incorporate a history of the town among its plans.

Mor will now be working with Bexley Council and its contractors over the next 13 months as the improvements to the gardens, on the banks of the River Cray in the town centre, get under way.

The work will be paid for from a £2.2m grant from the Government for the regeneration of the town.

Mor director David Buuma said: "We are delighted to be part of this very exciting project.

"We plan to work with residents, schools and the council to ensure Crayford's history and identity are reflected in the redesign of this important area."
