A TASTE of the Olympics came to Bexley as the London 2012 Roadshow arrived in the borough.

The aim of the roadshow is to give people right across London an idea of how the Games will benefit every part of the capital.

Opportunities will include new jobs and the chance to learn new skills as well as benefits for sport, culture, business and regeneration.

The roadshow, which includes interative sporting equipment and information about jobs, skills training and business, will tour all 33 London boroughs.

Bexley councillor Peter Catterall, cabinet member for leisure, arts and tourism, said it was important people and businesses were aware of the opportunities the Olympics will provide.

He said this could be through becoming a volunteer or by businesses getting involved in the wide range of work such a large project will generate.

Lord Coe, chairman of the organising committee, said he wanted: "To make sure residents are aware of the many ways they can join in and be part of 2012."
