A fire at a classic car dealership in Beckenham spread across the first floor and the roof in the early hours of this morning.

The fire is believed to have damaged an Aston Martin specialist repair shop named Pugsley & Lewis, based on a map location shared by London Fire Brigade.

The fire brigade was called at around 1.40am this morning to the premises in Kings Hall Road.

Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters were called to the blaze, which was under control by around 4.30am.

There are no reports of any injuries.

Fire investigators remain at the scene this morning to try and determine the cause of the fire.

London Fire Brigade Commander, David Reed, who was at the scene, said: "The centre section of the building was alight. Firefighters worked incredibly hard to bring the fire under control.

"The blaze was producing heavy smoke, which went in the direction away from residential properties, but those in the immediate area were advised to keep their windows and doors closed.
